Today, we are thrilled to declare the commencement of the Fusaka audit competition, collaboratively sponsored by Gnosis and Lido, hosted on Sherlock, lasting four weeks starting September 15th. The objective is straightforward: enhance inspection of the Fusaka upgrade and reveal vulnerabilities prior to them affecting the network.

To intensify the competition, valid discoveries reported in the initial week receive a 2x multiplier on their points awarded, while those reported during the second week acquire a 1.5x multiplier. To assist security researchers, we have created a Fusaka auditor guide.

We extend our gratitude to Gnosis for their contribution of 100,000 USD and to Lido for providing 25,000 USD to the contest. Beyond financing, co-sponsorship holds strategic significance for the ecosystem as upgrades to Ethereum impact all, and collaborative support among various organizations reinforces that protocol security is not merely one entity’s duty.

    What is an audit contest?

An audit contest is a limited-time competition aimed at strengthening the protocol. Security researchers are encouraged to proactively seek out vulnerabilities in the Fusaka codebase under established guidelines. Only significant, compliant discoveries receive rewards.

Following the competition, all findings will be assessed, authenticated, and compiled into an official report. This guarantees that identified vulnerabilities are monitored, addressed, and insights gained are disseminated. Leading researchers will be acknowledged for their efforts.

    Bug Bounty Program

Aside from Fusaka, our ongoing Bug Bounty Program grants rewards of up to 250,000 USD for vulnerabilities impacting the wider Ethereum protocol.

    About Sherlock

Sherlock is dedicated to maintaining the security of the Ethereum network, having previously executed the audit for the Pectra Bytecode upgrade at the conclusion of 2024.

Established in 2021, Sherlock is a comprehensive smart contract security platform that safeguards protocols throughout their entire lifecycle via collaborative audits with prominent researchers, extensive contests to enhance coverage, post-launch bug bounty initiatives, and financial backing to emphasize accountability. Building upon its early acclaim for audit contests, Sherlock today functions as a holistic security suite trusted by leading initiatives to protect critical on-chain systems.
