Globe has secured a prestigious position in the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2025 roster by TIME Magazine and Statista – the only Philippine telecommunications company included. This accolade reinforces the firm’s status as a leader in sustainability both nationally and globally, situating Globe among a select cadre of international pioneers reshaping business practices through sustainable initiatives.

Joining the esteemed selection of 500 worldwide enterprises spearheading excellence in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, this acknowledgment highlights Globe’s dedication to integrating sustainability throughout its operations and generating impact through quantifiable actions. The global assessment reviewed over 5,700 companies around the globe via a rigorous evaluation encompassing more than 20 performance metrics—which excludes unsustainable firms, and includes external evaluations and commitments, reporting transparency, along with environmental and social responsibility.

“For Globe, sustainability is crucial to our strategy in providing enduring value to our stakeholders,” stated Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz. “This global acknowledgment bolsters our leadership in sustainability within the nation. Central to our business are our customers, as we strive to create significant impact for them, our value chain, and the communities we support.”

Globe’s sustainability achievements encompass an AA rating from MSCI ESG Research, a verified net-zero science-based target by 2050 through the Science Based Targets initiative, and active participation in the UN Global Compact as well as the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign.

Dedicated to openness and accountability, the company issues an Integrated Report aligned with global standards that detail how it generates value over time. This yearly integrated report is validated by a third party and has, for two successive years, incorporated an Independent Verification Statement concerning its Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2024, 24.34% of its electricity was derived from renewable resources, with intentions to green over 150 locations in the next two years through various clean energy measures. Globe has also deployed over 38,000 eco-friendly solutions, including utilizing cleaner fuels with reduced emissions and minimizing fuel and electricity demand. These initiatives underscore the company’s innovative strategy toward environmental responsibility.

On the social aspect, Globe continues to advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as a core tenet of its dynamic workforce. With women constituting 44% of its employees and the provision of same-sex benefits for staff, Globe fosters an atmosphere where every individual feels appreciated and empowered. The noticeable decrease in non-disabling injuries further demonstrates the effectiveness of Globe’s ISO 45001:2018-certified Occupational Health and Safety system in safeguarding its employees’ well-being and that of the communities it serves.

“Being included in this distinguished global list showcases our advancement—but more significantly, our mission,” expressed Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “We remain resolute in fostering inclusive growth on a large scale, conducting business with integrity, proving that profitability and purpose can coexist, thereby inspiring a more sustainable future for everyone.”
