“No individual traverses existence or affection entirely solitary.” This invaluable declaration elevates the spirits of countless viewers who invest cherished moments and sincere feelings in Puregold Channel’s acclaimed digital series, Si Sol at si Luna.

Now in its third installment, Si Sol at si Luna persists in attracting passionate enthusiasts of romantic drama for its profound and meticulously crafted storyline that envelops them in the experiences of lead stars Zaijian Jaranilla (Sol) and Jane Oineza (Luna).

While Si Sol at si Luna focuses on the bond that gradually develops between a youthful, innocent filmmaker and a stoic, emotionally scarred woman, it also anchors their narratives in the warmth, clamor, and turmoil of those surrounding them, depicted in authentic Filipino style by a vibrant supporting ensemble.

For instance, Sol’s expedition as a film student is accentuated by his loyal companions Claudine (Uzziel Delamide) and Rey (Lyle Viray), who are continually available to assist with his thesis and engage in playful exchanges about his troubles, while the presence of classmate and admirer Ara (Karina Bautista) unveils a different facet of Sol’s personality.

Sol surveys the bus for Luna, yearning for another opportunity to encounter her.

Karina Bautista expresses that she resonates deeply with the character she embodies in the series. “Ara is fearless in articulating her feelings. She’s immensely self-assured and openly wears her heart on her sleeve. Nakaka-relate ako sa kaniya sa profound drive to flourish para sa mga taong mahal namin, pero masasabi ko rin na mas matapang si Ara sa akin.”

Regarding Ara’s influence on the pairing of Sol and Luna, Karina perceives Ara as a refreshing divergence from Luna. “She’s youthful, emotionally transparent, and courageous in affairs of the heart. Her affection will prompt Sol to comprehend the distinctions between infatuation, admiration, authentic connection, and love.”

Simultaneously, Luna does not face her sorrow in isolation. At her residence, Manang Boneng (Marnie Lapus) tends to her with quiet affection; at her workplace, her compassionate and patient team leader Ben (Joao Constancia) provides gentle encouragement. Even colleagues Jana (Jem Manicad) and Bridgette (Cheena Crab), despite being sharp-tongued and often blunt, will play a role in Luna’s personal development.

As a real-life mother, Marnie Lapus instinctively portrays her character, Manang Boneng, authentically. As Luna’s maternal figure in the narrative, Manang Boneng is seen as immensely relatable — someone who is caring towards family. She serves as Luna’s sanctuary, a figure she critically needs during a time of sorrow and emotional turmoil, providing clarity amidst chaos.

Then there is Cheena Crab, portraying office antagonist Bridgette, a character markedly different from her usual team-oriented demeanor. “In reality, wala naman talagang effortless and flawless life; laging may trials,” she remarks, noting that the character of Bridgette is a truly enjoyable addition to the narrative. “Yes, pinapahirapan niya si Luna, but ultimately, Luna will learn to counteract. Matututo siyang bumangon at ‘wag magpaapi.”

Bridgette and Ben provide contrasting dynamics in the office that influence Luna’s journey.

Joao Constancia, portraying Ben, emphasizes how the series effectively conveys the significance of unity and support from those around us. “Si Sol at si Luna is profound and important because it revolves around love, compassion, and understanding each other. It’s about extending kindness to those around you — and this is always applicable, regardless of your age or life situation.”

Episode 3, titled “Chasing the Girl,” will draw fans even nearer to the two protagonists, with additional scenes that heighten anticipation for the evolution of their bond.

Sol seeks the assistance of friends Rey and Claudine in Si Sol at si Luna episode 3, “Chasing the Girl.”

Directed by seasoned director Dolly Dulu, Si Sol at si Luna is a digital series from the Puregold Channel, following Sol, a film student, who becomes intrigued by Luna, a woman deeply affected by the loss of the man she cherished. Since their initial meeting during a bus ride, Sol has been attempting to locate her again, hoping to include her in his thesis documentary about love.

Will Luna consent to be part of Sol’s film… and might she eventually become a more significant presence in his life?

Don’t overlook the upcoming episode of Si Sol at si Luna, airing this Saturday at 7 p.m. on the Puregold Channel on YouTube.
