In its unwavering dedication to delivering accessible healthcare to marginalized communities, DigiPlus Interactive Corporation and its corporate social responsibility wing, BingoPlus Foundation, broadened their healthcare efforts through the KalusuganPLUS Program in the southern regions of the nation for the initial quarter of 2025.
Assisting Communities in Fighting Dengue in Palawan
The Foundation took immediate action in response to the rising dengue crisis in Palawan, where the Department of Health- MIMAROPA reported 7,060 dengue cases, with Narra, Palawan contributing 1,111 cases and 7 deaths, the highest in the province. The KalusuganPLUS Program initiated a two-day medical outreach in Barangay Princess Urduja and Barangay Antipluan, Narra, Palawan, on March 6 and March 7. Volunteer physicians, alongside municipal health personnel, offered complimentary medical assistance to approximately 1,300 residents across 12 barangays, primarily aimed at enhancing immunization against various ailments and viral infections, including dengue. In addition, residents received guidance on dengue prevention, with a specific focus on essential precautions and sanitation methods that can be easily adopted within their homes.
“Our collaboration with DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation has been essential in addressing the healthcare needs of our community. This initiative has provided crucial services while strengthening efforts in disease prevention and health education. We are deeply appreciative of this partnership, which has significantly enhanced the well-being of our residents,” remarked Dr. Gina Tagyab, Municipal Health Officer of Narra.

Addressing Healthcare Gaps in Quezon Province
Access to healthcare continues to be a significant challenge for the inhabitants of Mulanay, Quezon Province, where the lack of a local hospital severely limits medical assistance for its 50,000 residents. Dr. Ma. Melissa Tesalona, Head of the Municipality Health Unit of Mulanay, stated that residents must journey 30 to 40 minutes to reach the closest hospital in a neighboring town, a difficult task especially for elderly individuals and patients requiring routine checkups and medications. “We frequently face shortages of crucial medications and vitamins for the elderly who depend greatly on consistent treatment,” she remarked.
Recognizing the pressing healthcare void, BingoPlus Foundation intervened through its KalusuganPLUS Program. In partnership with the Mulanay’s Health Unit and Mulanay Central Elementary Alumni Association, the foundation executed a two-day medical outreach from April 11 to 12, 2025. The initiative provided free medical consultations, basic health assessments, and medications to over 1,200 residents, delivering essential healthcare directly to the community. The majority of patients, aged between 35 to 75, sought treatment for chronic conditions such as hypertension, arthritis, and diabetes.
