The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival has evolved into a gateway for student filmmakers in Philippine entertainment. With the intention of elevating the industry’s most talented young individuals, Puregold CinePanalo has paved the way for these aspiring creatives to develop their skills. For example, the festival’s annual student short films category provides substantial production funding as well as chances to create remarkable projects at a professional standard.

Masilungan and Garciano were participants in the inaugural Puregold CinePanalo student shorts category. Masilungan won the Best Director award for his film Kung Nag-aatubili, while Garciano worked on the cinematography for Smokey Journey, recognized for its ensemble cast and original score.
These two are presently leading the latest “retailtainment” initiative from Puregold. With Masilungan as the director and Garciano as the director of photography, Got My Eyes on You has emerged as a remarkable addition to the BL genre.
Featuring Esteban Mara and Mikoy Morales, Got My Eyes on You narrates the tale of two employees at a luxury resort competing for the general manager position, only to discover their feelings for one another. The series addresses serious themes regarding workplace romance amid the challenging endeavor for work-life equilibrium.
Alumni of Puregold CinePanalo also comprise the post-production team of Got My Eyes on You. The show’s editor, Jenievive B. Adame, previously collaborated with Garciano when she directed Smokey Journey. Anton Acosta, who was the director of photography on Masilungan’s Kung Nag-aatubili, also continues their partnership as an editor for the digital series.
For both Masilungan and Garciano, the chance to bring this series to fruition is a direct outcome of their triumph at the Puregold CinePanalo.

Meanwhile, submissions for the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival student shorts category remain open.
