In a pivotal decision that transforms the realm of public transportation advocacy, the nation’s largest and most powerful transport figures have banded together to endorse the Angkasangga Partylist, officially signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with its initial nominee, George Royeca, during a summit that highlighted much-anticipated sectoral unity.

Representing a broad coalition of national entities — including tricycles (TODA), UV Express, jeepneys, van rentals, and taxis — this collaboration signifies the unification of transport voices that have long been fractured by sectoral conflicts and policy disarray. For the first time in several decades, these organizations are aligned around a common goal: a cohesive, empowered, and respected future for every transport worker in the Philippines.

The momentous MoA confirms collective efforts on urgent transport matters such as livelihood safeguarding, modernization with respect, and inclusive legislation. It also represents a crucial shift in the dynamics between traditional transport factions and new mobility platforms, emphasizing a dedication to collaboration rather than rivalry within the shifting public transport landscape.

In attendance at the signing were prominent leaders from national transport coalitions, including:

Ariel Lim, President of NACTODAP and the United Transport Alliance of the Philippines, highlighted the significance of the occasion:

“This MOA is more than just symbolic. After years of fragmentation, we are now progressing as a single voice. Our sector’s unity commences today — with Angkasangga as our shared platform.”

Lito Legaspi, Vice-President of NACTODAP, conveyed the complete support of grassroots TODA networks across the nation and urged for immediate mobilization throughout barangays.

Juancho Capariño, leader of ACTO Nationwide Corp., committed to a full alignment from the jeepney sector, strengthening nationwide collaboration through ACTO’s broad network.

Gerry Donesa, a respected voice among Metro Manila taxi operators, emphasized support from established transport players and their willingness to contribute towards a modern, inclusive future.

Notably, this coalition includes former adversaries of motorcycle taxi services, indicating a significant transformation within the industry. Groups that previously initiated legal action against motorcycle taxi platforms are now unified with Angkasangga, acknowledging the leadership and bridge-building efforts of George Royeca in gathering all sectors together.

Mr. Royeca, the visionary behind Angkas and a veteran advocate for the rights of transport workers, graciously accepted the support with determination:

“This transcends mere political endorsement — it’s a movement. From tricycles to jeepneys, UV Express, vans, and taxis, our transport champions merit representation, protection, and advancement. Angkasangga is here to amplify the voice of every driver, every operator, and every unrecognized hero on our roads. Today, we stand together — for the first time — as one transport sector.”

This unparalleled demonstration of unity initiates a new chapter in transport policymaking, where sectoral separations yield to a common purpose, and the historically marginalized workforce of Philippine mobility secures its rightful place at the policymaking table.
