On July 30, 2025, the Ethereum community celebrated a significant milestone: a decade since Ethereum’s genesis block and mainnet initiation.
What started as a whitepaper has transformed into a decentralized platform now supporting countless applications, tools, and communities worldwide.
The Celebration
To honor the occasion, more than 100 ecosystem-led events occurred across 6 continents. These gatherings included meetups, workshops, art exhibits, and hackathons, all arranged by members of the Ethereum community.
The Ethereum Foundation conducted a livestream event to usher in the next decade.
The livestream showcased a conversation with Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin, an interview with Ethereum Foundation Co-Executive Directors Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomask Stańczak, an overview of the Ethereum roadmap, and presentations from ecosystem developers.

As the ecosystem reflected on its journey, it also contemplated the future. Numerous participants shared their “moonshot ideas” for what the coming 10+ years could hold for Ethereum. New decades present fresh challenges and possibilities for Ethereum across AI, biotech, culture, finance, governance, & more.
The Ethereum Torch
The Ethereum Torch is an NFT designed to commemorate the 10 years of Ethereum celebration.
In the 10 days leading up to the anniversary, the Ethereum Torch was ceremonially passed from wallet to wallet to honor the individuals and principles that have shaped Ethereum’s inaugural decade and will aid in crafting its future.
Ten distinct Torchbearers were chosen to symbolize the Ethereum ecosystem. Each Torchbearer conveyed reflections about Ethereum on social platforms, which were compiled into a collective thread.

On the anniversary celebration day, the Ethereum Torch was made available to the ecosystem for a complimentary, limited-time mint.
The mint, which was set to last for 50 hours, signifies a ‘full day across the globe with Ethereum’, to commemorate the occasion.
