For the inaugural time in history, the Argentine Senate has welcomed discussions on Bitcoin, attributed to the initiatives of NGO Bitcoin Argentina. The seminar, named “Bitcoin and its Regulatory Framework,” took place this week at the Arturo Illia Hall within the Legislative Palace.
Hosted by NGO Bitcoin Argentina, the gathering convened vital political advisors and departmental leaders from diverse political factions to assess Bitcoin’s prospective influence on Argentina’s economy and regulatory atmosphere. Gabriela Battiato, an attorney and Legal Coordinator of NGO Bitcoin Argentina, facilitated an extensive discourse on Bitcoin’s ideology, progression, and the current global regulatory discussions pertinent to its use.
“This marks a significant advancement toward legislative acknowledgment of the crypto ecosystem. Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies have already become a component of our economic landscape, and it is crucial for key decision-makers to possess precise and reliable information,” remarked Ricardo Mihura, President of NGO Bitcoin Argentina.
The seminar was led by Senator Antonio José Rodas, with Senator Mariana Juri of Mendoza participating, emphasizing the increasing bipartisan enthusiasm in comprehending and incorporating Bitcoin into Argentina’s legal systems. Their dialogue on Bitcoin centered on its transformative possibilities and its elevating role in global finance.
“This occasion establishes a benchmark and strengthens our objective of disseminating knowledge about Bitcoin and blockchain across all social segments. We will keep fostering these opportunities, as we believe that only through conversation and education can we establish suitable regulations and encourage sector growth,” stated Jimena Vallone, Executive Director of NGO Bitcoin Argentina.
