At 7:29 UTC today, on epoch 222464, the Pectra network upgrade was initiated on the Sepolia testnet.
Regrettably, a problem with Sepolia’s permissions-based deposit contract hindered numerous execution layer clients from adding transactions to blocks. The underlying issue was pinpointed within minutes, prompting client teams to swiftly start implementing a solution.
This problem stems from Sepolia’s setup and could not take place on the Ethereum mainnet.
Around 14:00 UTC today, validators released a solution that reinstated normal network throughput.
All Sepolia node operators are now required to upgrade their execution layer clients to the versions specified below to ensure network compatibility.
