The moment has passed, the melody has concluded,
Thought I’d have something extra to express.
— Pink Floyd
It is with a considerable measure of sorrow that I must say goodbye. Much like The Floyd’s creations, throughout my journey with Ethereum, I’ve experienced a wide array of feelings. From the astonishment of encountering so many fascinating individuals (not least among them Jani and Wendell) in Miami, January ‘14, to meeting Jeff for the first occasion in February ‘14 for the inaugural real face-to-face collaboration on a project, to journeying across the U.S. in March ‘14 and connecting with notable figures like Joel and Juan. And then there was the thrill of establishing EthDev and assembling a team with my persistent co-conspirator Aeron, getting acquainted with the remarkable programmers Martin and Roman at DevCon-0 and pushing the boundaries of my intellect with Matt and Tim on Ethash…
But enough of the history; conclusions undoubtedly summon opportunity if only you seek diligently, and this is no exception. Alongside core developers Arkadiy and Marek and a group of others (both seasoned veterans and fresh faces), I’ll be striving to turn The Dream into reality as part of an exciting new endeavor.
I regret to inform that I’ll be allowing my C++ to become somewhat rusty as I delve into various sectors of technology apart from the cpp-ethereum core. Nonetheless, I’ll do my utmost to assist and mentor Bob, Christoph, and others as they advance it into new territories and provide a bit of rivalry for the other groups.
The journey ahead is likely to be turbulent but we are aware of our mission and I anticipate the vistas will be spectacular. Farewell and thank you for all the fish.
