Today, Boltz is introducing Boltz Pro, a feature that allows users to assist Boltz in managing its bitcoin wallet and Lightning channel liquidity, and I intend to give it a try.
But first, a bit of context regarding how Boltz Pro functions.
As per Kilian, a co-founder of Boltz, the funds within Boltz’s wallets and Lightning channels are in a state of constant flux, particularly as the volume and speed of sats circulating through the platform escalates.
The concept behind Boltz Pro is that users can contribute liquidity for swaps when Boltz’s balances are depleted.
Here’s an illustration:
Suppose Boltz is experiencing a shortage of its base chain bitcoin reserves. Boltz will adjust its dynamic fee to -0.15% for bitcoin-to-Lightning exchanges. This indicates that users will receive a 0.15% fee.
Once Boltz observes a sufficient volume flowing in this direction and the bitcoin wallet is replenished, fees will revert to standard levels.
There’s no need to register to utilize Boltz Pro. Simply keep an eye on https://pro.boltz.exchange/ for when the fees on the platform become negative and seize the opportunity. Additionally, remember that Boltz never holds user funds, allowing you to earn these sats in a non-custodial way.
This is now the primary platform I’ll consult when I wish to transfer sats between the base chain and Lightning or the other way around, as I’d prefer to be compensated for using Boltz rather than incurring costs.
Hats off to Boltz for allowing users to earn a few extra sats by assisting them.
