🚨Update to Altair before Oct 27🚨
As noted in the prior Finalized post,
Altair is set to launch at epoch 74240 — Oct 27, 2021, 10:56:23am UTC. Refer to the Altair Mainnet Announcement for further information on who, how, and why.
It’s sufficient to state here that the upgrade is in roughly one week, hence the moment to update your node is immediate. If you operate as a validator on the beacon chain, you must update prior to the epoch of the Altair upgrade or you will incur downtime penalties.
Note: Four out of the five mainnet clients — Nimbus, Teku, Lighthouse, and Prysm — have released minor version updates since the initial Altair announcement (updated list here). As these new updates include a combination of security improvements and optimizations, we strongly advise utilizing the latest client release even if you have already updated for Altair.
