This year, we’ve opened applications for individuals wishing to join Devcon with Builder and Student discounts, as well as for Speakers, Supporters, Volunteers, or as Press. However, what enhancements are there for General Attendance passes? Today, we would like to introduce the Auction & Raffle – A novel approach to ticket distribution, allowing you to secure a Devcon ticket ahead of the standard ticket sale.

The First Tickets to Devcon VI: Meet the Devcon Auction & Raffle
Distributing tickets is perpetually a challenge when demand surpasses availability, and we have devoted time to contemplate innovative methods to provide more chances for those wishing to attend Devcon VI.
This year, we will conduct a pre-sale Auction & Raffle for the inaugural Devcon VI tickets, supported by the outstanding TrueFi development team.
In preceding years, Devcon ticket waves were planned over diverse days and times to reach a more varied audience than a singular sale. Nevertheless, there are benefits for those positioned in the right time zones, or even geographically closer to our physical ticketing servers. Ultimately, our aspiration is to distribute tickets using as many methods as possible, and to avoid requiring most attendees to frequently refresh a website at specific times (when feasible).
How will the Auction function?
Both the Auction & Raffle will occur on Arbitrum, a layer 2 rollup that finalizes on Ethereum’s mainnet. We recommend bridging funds to Arbitrum in advance if you wish to take part, and the only accepted payment will be ETH.
The Ticket Auction will resemble a traditional auction: Participants will be able to place bids, and the 20 highest bidders will each secure a ticket to Devcon VI, in exchange for their bid amount. The minimum bid required to enter the Auction will be 0.25 ETH (a considerable reduction from the price of a General Admission ticket).
And the best part? Proceeds will be directed towards public goods! Additionally, everyone who engages in the Auction & Raffle will receive a POAP NFT as a token of participation.

Note: Smart contract wallets such as Argent & Gnosis Safe will not be compatible with this year’s Auction & Raffle. In future iterations, we aim to adjust the contracts to accept smart contract wallets.
How will the Raffle function?
All participants not achieving the top 20 bids will have another opportunity to win one of 80 tickets to Devcon VI at the reserve price (0.25 ETH) through a raffle!
Each individual who wins the Raffle will be able to withdraw any extra ETH over the reserve price. If you do not win either the raffle or the auction, you can recover your entire bid amount, minus a 2% sybil resistance fee.

- Bidding will close at 07:59 UTC on July 14, 2022.
- The minimum participation bid in the Auction will be 0.25 ETH (a substantial discount from the price of a General Admission ticket).

Claim Period
Victors of the Auction & Raffle will be provided with 48 HOURS TO REDEEM THEIR TICKET. After this 48-hour window has lapsed, you will be unable to redeem your voucher or withdraw your funds. Make sure to set your reminders! ⏲️
