The EcoDev Research Team at the Ethereum Foundation is thrilled to announce the initiation of five six-month research fellowship positions. This fellowship grants participants the chance to delve into underexplored Ethereum applications, pinpointing obstacles and facilitators that could influence their progression.
We welcome researchers, developers, community contributors, and professionals from various sectors to submit their credentials and a one-page research proposal. We seek cutting-edge concepts focused on emerging Ethereum applications that:
- Significantly and distinctively leverage Ethereum’s functionalities.
- Concentrate on applications that generate positive-sum results and tangible benefits in the real world.
- Have not yet attained considerable momentum and/or have not been thoroughly examined within the Ethereum framework.
The fellowship emphasizes investigating broader, lesser-explored application domains rather than targeting specific products or pre-commercial initiatives. We are not interested in proposals aimed at incremental enhancements to thoroughly studied and well-financed areas, such as AMMs, lending protocols, digital art, collectible IP, prediction markets, domain registries, etc.
Fellowship Details
- Full-time Fellowship: Participants will receive a monthly stipend to support their endeavors.
- Consistent Updates: Participants are required to present monthly drafts and a conclusive report at the end of the six-month duration.
- EF Team Involvement: Group discussions, guidelines, and weekly interactions with the EcoDev Research team will be provided for fellows.
Fellowship Deliverables
Fellows are expected to deliver monthly progress updates and a comprehensive report encapsulating their discoveries at the conclusion of the six-month term. Furthermore, fellows will showcase their work to the EcoDev Research team, with opportunities to share insights at public gatherings.
