FIRO Removal from Listings
On September 13, 2024, at 10:00 UTC, FIRO was officially removed from our mining pool. This choice was made following the FIRO project’s declaration to drastically decrease mining rewards by fivefold at block 958655, occurring around September 16, 2024. The revised reward allocation strongly favored Masternodes while significantly diminishing miners’ portions, which contradicted our principles of supporting the miner community. As a result, we stopped our support for FIRO.
Kaspa Stable Mainnet Launch & WASM SDK v0.15.1
In the previous month, Kaspa introduced a stable mainnet update concentrating on improving mempool functionalities vital for adjusting to fee market variations. Key features added included:
- Replace-By-Fee (RBF) to enable transaction replacement in the mempool.
- A fee estimation API reliant on real-time mempool states for more precise fee predictions.
- An updated mempool eviction approach that prioritizes transactions depending on fee rate.
Further enhancements encompassed significant advancements in the block template transaction selection algorithm and header processing efficiency. These improvements made mining on Kaspa more effective under diverse network conditions. We recommended upgrading to this version for enhanced stability and superior network support.
Pyrin Network Hard Fork
Pyrin experienced a planned hard fork at block 27,037,930, presenting a new mining algorithm, PyrinHashV2. This alteration necessitated miners to upgrade their mining software to continue mining PYI effectively. Countdown details leading up to the hard fork were available on the Pyrin Explorer.
Karlsen Update and Hard Fork
Karlsen also experienced a hard fork with the introduction of a fresh mining algorithm, KarlsenHashV2, designed to bolster network security and efficiency. Post-update, various issues were resolved, including a critical bug fix addressing transaction rejections impacting pool operators. The latest version included several crucial fixes enhancing transaction handling and wallet functionalities, emphasizing the necessity for miners to upgrade their software to the most recent version to prevent potential problems.

We have refreshed our Quick Start Archive (password — 2miners) to incorporate the latest versions of mining software to accommodate the new algorithms and enhancements introduced in Pyrin and Karlsen:
