This week, the deposit contract reached the minimum target of 16384 32-ETH validator contributions, initiating genesis. The genesis timestamp is 1606824023 — specifically, December 1, 2020, 12:00:23pm UTC.

It’s time to set up your node. Synchronize your eth1 client (start now! this process may take some time), install your preferred eth2 client, and load your validators.

Keep an eye on updates during genesis 👀
While all eth2 clients have released mainnet v1.0 versions, remain vigilant for any updates throughout genesis. If your eth2 client announces a release 24 hours prior to genesis, it’s likely for a significant reason, and you should stay informed.
Join your client’s discord, and if they have a newsletter, subscribe!
Alongside client-specific resources, I strongly recommend becoming part of the ethstaker discord. It’s an excellent venue for inquiries and sharing insights, and I anticipate it to be quite lively during genesis. If there’s anything you wish to know, it will likely arise there.
