Community mobilizers are the bond that unifies the Ethereum community, and whether they’re spearheading large events, local gatherings, hackathons, or workshops, we could all be meandering through the dim wilderness of the traditional world without their presence. But where’s the excitement in depending on serendipitous meetings with like-minded individuals signaled by a distinctive laptop sticker, or that elusive vibe of cryptocool?
While prominent events often create greater excitement, not everyone can journey across the globe for a convention. Smaller gatherings are essential in making Ethereum inclusive, accessible, and integrated: anyone with internet access and a laptop can engage in a virtual meetup or join an online hackathon group, and there are countless opportunities available at any time.
Bearing this in mind, the Devcon team is partnering with ESP to conduct a cycle of grants ranging from $500 to $1500 for meetups and smaller gatherings. If you’re coordinating an event or multiple sessions and require assistance with related expenses, or have been delaying something special due to a shortage of resources, we are here to support you! If your event incurs no expenses but you’re encountering another challenge, please reach out anyway and we’ll explore how we can assist.
To qualify for a grant, your event should meet the following criteria:
- Ethereum-centric
- Free to attend
- Open to all
- If conducted in person, adherent to all local COVID-19 regulations and guidelines
- Not centered on investment, pricing, or token sales
- Events that have already occurred are ineligible
