The Ethereum Foundation (EF) aims to enable the Ethereum ecosystem to flourish, and numerous revelations remain to be uncovered regarding what Ethereum can offer to the globe. This is the reason we endorse individuals who possess the capability to reveal segments of Ethereum’s narrative that have yet to be documented.
The Devcon Scholars Program extended assistance to facilitate greater accessibility to Devcon for 50 individuals we believed could positively influence Ethereum and its community, yet faced barriers to attendance due to financial constraints.
The Program
We selected participants whose involvement would enhance Devcon and the ecosystem. Scholars were identified based on their prior experiences and their aspirations for contributing to Ethereum.
Participants received programming and resources designed to ready them for Devcon, including “Learning Sessions” with prominent figures in the Ethereum community. During Devcon, Scholars crafted their own journeys by opting for the talks and events they wished to partake in, some of which you can discover more about below.
From the cohort, 50% hailed from Latin America. Moreover, 70% of Scholars participated in the ETHBogota hackathon, with many securing awards.

To Infinity and Beyond
Our aspiration for the Devcon Scholars initiative was to sow new seeds in the Infinite Garden: to empower creators contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem across various regions and domains. We conducted a survey among Scholars to gather feedback on the initiative, and post their time in Bogotá, participants now feel adequately equipped to make significant contributions to Ethereum and its future.
With this group, we are assured their influence will resonate throughout the ecosystem both now and in the years ahead. This is merely the commencement.
