Each year, over 5,000 youngsters in the Philippines are affected by cancer. Despite being highly manageable, delayed diagnoses and various other aspects lead to a survival rate in the country of merely 30%.<\/p>\n

In this B-Side episode, we converse with Dr. Ana Patricia A. Alcasabas, head of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and chairperson of the National Sub-Technical Working Group for Childhood Cancer, as she elaborates on the nation’s difficulties in combatting childhood cancer.<\/p>\n

She also elaborates on the cancer treatment for children at PGH and how the institution spearheads efforts to enhance care nationwide.<\/p>\n
