Essentially, it transforms a bitcoin IOU into the actual asset.)<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce hints at new pro-crypto modifications impending at the SEC<\/p>\n<p>ETF in-kind redemptions and the potential for ETF issuers to start staking likely occurring &quot;early on&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Both ETFs currently exceed $100B in AUM <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/g3jtbuBeWU\">pic.twitter.com\/g3jtbuBeWU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Coinage (@coinage_media) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coinage_media\/status\/1870084709503643873?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 20, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This brings me joy, as bitcoin was not intended to remain confined within the confines of the antiquated system. It was designed to liberate us from that framework.<\/p>\n<p>If Peirce collaborates with the forthcoming SEC Chair, Paul Atkins, to enable the endorsement of in-kind redemptions, then the spot bitcoin ETFs could act as some of the largest gateways to Bitcoin, as Bitwise co-founder Hong Kim <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/bitwise-brings-the-bitcoin-ethos-to-wall-street-\">articulated<\/a>, rather than merely serving as speculative instruments.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin was created to thrive in the open.
