The last occasion bitcoin approached these heights was in August.<\/p>\n

Several pivotal factors are driving the bullish turnaround. Macroeconomic unpredictability \u2014 including the current U.S. government shutdown<\/a> \u2014 has steered investors towards alternatives such as bitcoin, historically viewed as a safeguard against conventional financial risks.<\/p>\n

Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets at Standard Chartered, asserts<\/a> that bitcoin\u2019s function as a safe haven is being heightened by the fiscal stalemate in Washington.<\/p>\n

This surge has also been enhanced<\/a> by the so-called \u201cUptober\u201d seasonality \u2014 a phrase traders use to characterize bitcoin\u2019s usual trend of significant October profits.<\/p>\n

Throughout the past decade, this month has shown average returns surpassing 21%, often setting the groundwork for considerable fourth-quarter success. Since 2015, bitcoin has recorded<\/a> an increase of nearly 58% in the fourth quarter, outpacing every other three-month timeframe.<\/p>\n

Institutions seem to be contributing<\/a> to this surge as well, with heightened inflows into exchange-traded funds and digital custody services indicating renewed demand from both retail and institutional investors.<\/p>\n

Where is Bitcoin headed?\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Bitcoin has moved sideways in recent months, but critical liquidity indicators indicated<\/a> that this breakout was imminent. Global M2 growth, stablecoin supply patterns, and gold\u2019s rally \u2014 which bitcoin has closely followed with a 40-day delay \u2014 all showed positive trajectories.<\/p>\n

JPMorgan analysts believe<\/a> that bitcoin is undervalued compared to gold, projecting a theoretical upside to $165,000 if the \u201cdebasement trade\u201d \u2014 investing in assets that mitigate fiat currency risk \u2014 persists.<\/p>\n

Market observers, like Kendrick, are adjusting their forecasts in light of bitcoin\u2019s rally, with some predictions anticipating prices to surpass $135,000 in the short term and potentially reach $200,000 by year-end if current patterns remain.<\/p>\n
