A cryptocurrency developer has accused World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a crypto initiative connected to US President Donald Trump, of misappropriating his funds by not unlocking his tokens.<\/p>\n

In a Saturday update<\/a> on X, Polygon DevRel Bruno Skvorc shared an email from WLFI\u2019s compliance department, which marked his wallet address as \u201chigh risk\u201d due to blockchain exposure. The department stated that his tokens would remain unreleased.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe summary is, they misappropriated my funds,\u201d Skvorc wrote. \u201cAnd since it\u2019s the @POTUS [The president of the United States] family, I can\u2019t take any action. This is the modern-day mafia. There\u2019s no one to file a complaint with, no one to contend with, no one to sue.\u201d<\/p>\n

In reply to another user, Skvorc asserted<\/a> that he is among six investors who were subjected to 100% token lockup from the outset. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t \u2018high risk\u2019 to receive funds from this address, but it is high risk to unlock owed funds into it,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Are compliance tools to blame?<\/h2>\n

The incident ignited criticism regarding the compliance tools employed by projects like WLFI. Onchain investigator ZachXBT weighed in, clarifying that automated tools frequently label addresses as \u201chigh risk\u201d for trivial or erroneous reasons, including interactions with DeFi contracts or exchanges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assisted a team in manually reviewing addresses for a presale because popular compliance tools marked them high risk due to unrelated activity several hops away,\u201d ZachXBT noted. \u201cThese tools are profoundly flawed.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Skvorc\u2019s instance, the flags were linked to a past transaction involving crypto blender Tornado Cash<\/a>, indirect associations with sanctioned organizations like Garantex<\/a> and Netex24, along with a previous connection to a now-blacklisted dashboard.<\/p>\n

Operating out of Croatia, Skvorc is a blockchain developer who contributed to Ethereum 2.0<\/a>. He is also the founder of RMRK, a company that integrates multi-resource NFTs into gaming metaverses.<\/p>\n

Justin Sun\u2019s WLFI tokens locked<\/h2>\n

On Friday, Tron founder Justin Sun also disclosed that his WLFI token allocation has been locked<\/a>. His wallet was blacklisted after blockchain trackers identified a $9 million transaction, leading to allegations that he had commenced selling.<\/p>\n
