Robinhood\u2019s strategy to tokenize stocks on its newly designed Ethereum-compatible blockchain may divert trading activity<\/a> from established exchanges like the NYSE, undermining their primary income from trading fees and market information, as per Galaxy Digital.<\/p>\n

During the EthCC conference this week, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev\u00a0outlined intentions for<\/a>\u00a0\u201cRobinhood Chain,\u201d an Ethereum-compatible\u00a0layer-2 on Arbitrum Orbit<\/a>. This blockchain will enable users to trade tokenized versions of stocks directly on-chain, facilitating asset transactions beyond traditional exchange hours.<\/p>\n

\u2018Minor likelihood\u2019 $8.6B Bitcoin transfer was a hack: Coinbase executive<\/h2>\n

Conor Grogan, Coinbase\u2019s head of product, suggests there\u2019s a minor chance the $8.6 billion worth of Bitcoin transferred on Thursday<\/a> \u2014 from eight wallets that had stored the Bitcoin for over 14 years \u2014 could be attributed to a hack, which, if accurate, would mark the largest theft in history.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf this is valid (again, I\u2019m merely speculating), this would undoubtedly be the most significant heist in human history,\u201d Grogan\u00a0mentioned<\/a>\u00a0in an X post on Friday, after hinting that the $8.6 billion worth of Bitcoin\u00a0shifted from eight distinct wallets might involve malicious actors.<\/p>\n
