This persistent interest has been driven by institutional entities such as BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, Bitwise, ProShares, and 21Shares, all of which have experienced increasing demand<\/a> for their crypto-related offerings.<\/p>\n

US Leads Inflows While Bitcoin Holds Dominance<\/h2>\n

A significant portion of last week\u2019s inflows stemmed from the United States, accounting for $2.65 billion of the global figure. Smaller contributions also originated from Switzerland and Germany, with $23 million and $19.8 million respectively.<\/p>\n

Other regions, including Canada, Hong Kong, and Brazil, experienced slight outflows. Notably, Hong Kong<\/a> logged total outflows of $132 million for June, despite having previously observed robust inflow activity during regional price increases.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin remained the principal recipient of institutional interest, drawing in $2.2 billion, or approximately 83% of the week’s inflows. In contrast, Short-Bitcoin products faced $2.9 million in outflows, accumulating total year-to-date outflows for bearish positions on BTC to $12 million.<\/p>\n

This contrasting movement indicates a broader market inclination towards long exposure, reflecting optimistic sentiment surrounding Bitcoin\u2019s current price framework and future potential.<\/p>\n

James Butterfill, research head at CoinShares, remarked that the mid-year results closely align with those of 2024, which concluded June with inflows totaling $18.3 billion.<\/p>\n

Butterfill attributed the prevailing trend to a mix of macroeconomic elements, including geopolitical unrest and evolving expectations<\/a> regarding central bank policies.<\/p>\n

He underscored that uncertainty surrounding interest rate adjustments and broader economic indicators has likely prompted investors to include digital assets in a diversified approach.<\/p>\n

Ethereum Experiences Strong Inflows, Solana Lags<\/h2>\n

Ethereum also noted substantial inflows last week, as $429 million was added to institutional products linked to the asset. Year-to-date, Ethereum-oriented funds have now gathered $2.9 billion in net inflows, making it the second-most popular digital asset among institutional investors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The surge in ETH inflows coincides with ongoing growth in Layer 2 networks, which have enriched the platform\u2019s utility. Conversely, Solana continues to fall behind in investor attraction, with merely $91 million in inflows recorded for the year thus far.<\/p>\n

While Solana has gained recognition in sectors like DeFi and NFT creation, it seems to be drawing more speculative investment rather than substantial institutional flows<\/a> at this juncture.<\/p>\n

The contrast between Ethereum and Solana implies that investor confidence is still predominantly linked to the more established networks when funneling capital into altcoins.<\/p>\n
