Significantly, one main proposal would permit digital asset platforms to list their own utility tokens or tokens issued by <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/malaysias-crypto-mining-boom-threatened-by-100-million-power-theft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">associated entities<\/a>, a practice that is presently limited.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The public consultation phase is open until July 21, after which the SEC will decide whether to move forward with the alterations. Under the revised proposal, exchanges listing crypto assets would also have to disclose the identities of individuals directly involved with the tokens.<\/p>\n<p>These disclosures need to be clear to users and accessible via the exchange\u2019s reporting system. Moreover, automated notifications would be incorporated into <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/tethers-120-billion-treasury-stash-surpasses-germany-ranks-19th-globally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">exchange reporting<\/a> to assist the SEC in identifying dubious activities, such as insider trading or market manipulation.<\/p>\n<p should the new regulations be implemented, any token currently available on local platforms would face a retroactive disclosure obligation, requiring exchanges to identify connected parties within 90 days of the rule\u2019s initiation.<\/p>\n<p>This regulatory framework reportedly aims to improve transparency and mitigate risks tied to information imbalances among developers, exchanges, and investors.<\/p>\n<h2 data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Thailand\u2019s Broader Initiative for Crypto Integration<\/h2>\n<p>Developments in Thailand\u2019s crypto policy are part of a larger strategy to position the nation as a competitive digital finance center. Earlier this month, the Thai government sanctioned a <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinist.com\/crypto-in-the-land-of-smiles-thailand-scraps-gains-tax-until-2029\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">five-year tax exemption<\/a> for income generated from cryptocurrency trading.<\/p>\n<p>This exemption is intended to foster innovation, lure foreign investments, and give local startups greater latitude for scaling.
