\u201cCybersecurity is another vital area where AI proves crucial,\u201d noted Mel Migri\u00f1o, Gogolook Philippines Country Head, during a roundtable conversation themed \u201cWomen in AI: Empowering Female Leaders in Technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Migri\u00f1o elaborated that, given the rising complexity of cyberattacks, fraud, disinformation, and deepfakes, conventional security measures no longer suffice.<\/p>\n

The Gogolook Country Head highlighted that AI can evaluate network traffic in real-time, identify irregularities that may signify a breach, and automatically address threats \u2014 acting as a relentless and vigilant guardian of digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The Gen AI Summit 2025 centered on how AI is revolutionizing corporate transformation, national security, and economic progress.<\/p>\n

It also stressed the government\u2019s initiative through the National AI Strategy Roadmap to establish the country as a regional AI hub by incorporating the technology into governance, public services, and business sectors.<\/p>\n

Ms. Migri\u00f1o, who additionally serves as the founder and chairperson of the Philippine Chief Information Officer Association (PCIOA), a recognized consortium of technology leaders in the nation, emphasized that the evolution of AI must align with responsible development.<\/p>\n

Alongside Ms. Migri\u00f1o, the discussion also featured Wence Wenceslao, Senior Global Digital Lead for Beauty and Wellbeing at Unilever; Arlene Romasa, Director and CIO at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); Suzy Lee, Director of Data and Analytics at JG Summit Holdings Inc.; and was moderated by Wanda Pascua, Head of Marketing at Tonik Bank, who shared insights on AI’s influence across multiple sectors and the significance of inclusive leadership in technology.<\/p>\n

Ms. Migri\u00f1o also delivered impactful closing remarks during the second day of the Gen AI Summit. \u201cAs we harness the transformative capacity of AI, we must also face the ethical dilemmas it introduces. These are not just technical challenges \u2014 they are core questions about the kind of future we aspire to build,\u201d Ms. Migri\u00f1o stated. \u201cThe decisions we make today will shape whether AI emerges as a force for good or a source of new issues and disparities.\u201d<\/p>\n
