Ethereum\u2019s aspirations extend much further: to become civilization-scale infrastructure that reliably supports the internet and the global economy, exceeding the safety and reliability of existing legacy systems.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">Today we are unveiling the <!-- --><strong>Trillion Dollar Security<!-- --><\/strong> initiative, a holistic effort to enhance Ethereum\u2019s protection to assist in transitioning the world onchain.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">Achieving \u201cTrillion Dollar security\u201d signifies a world where:<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\" class=\"css-1onhfjo\">\n<li class=\"css-cvpopp\">Billions of people are at ease storing over $1000 onchain, collectively resulting in trillions of dollars secured on Ethereum.<!-- --><\/li>\n<li class=\"css-cvpopp\">Corporations, organizations, or governments are willing to store more than 1 trillion dollars of value within a single contract or application.<!-- --><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"chakra-heading css-1w54o5f\" id=\"what-will-the-1ts-project-do\">What will the 1TS project achieve?<!-- --><\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">This initiative comprises three elements:<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\"><strong>(1) Cataloging<!-- --><\/strong> the landscape of security strengths and avenues of attack across all domains and layers of Ethereum\u2019s technological architecture. We will collect insights from throughout the ecosystem and synthesize this into a security overview document that will guide us in identifying key areas of focus.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">This cataloging will encompass a broad spectrum of domains, including: UX (blind signing, frontend protection), wallet safety (firmware vulnerabilities, supply chain intrusions), smart contract integrity (developer tools, standard libraries), infrastructure (cloud protection, dependency oversight), consensus and protocol defense (DOS threats, stake centralization), internet infrastructure (DNS-level censorship), and beyond.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\"><strong>(2) Implementing<!-- --><\/strong> enhancements in the focal areas identified during the cataloging overview. We will collaborate closely with the ecosystem to execute immediate high-impact solutions and allocate resources for longer-term enhancement projects.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\"><strong>(3) Promoting<!-- --><\/strong> more effectively regarding Ethereum\u2019s security. Users of all varieties should grasp, utilize, and reap the benefits of Ethereum\u2019s robust security foundation. Anyone should be able to assess Ethereum\u2019s security benchmarks and compare these with other blockchains and established systems.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"chakra-heading css-1w54o5f\" id=\"who-will-contribute-to-this-project\">Who will participate in this project?<!-- --><\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">At the Ethereum Foundation, the project will be led by Fredrik Svantes (Protocol Security Lead) and Josh Stark (EF management team) as the initial co-chairs of this initiative.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">They will be assisted by three ecosystem stewards who will guide the project and offer insights and recommendations.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\"><strong>samczsun<!-- --><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">samczsun is the creator of the Security Alliance (SEAL) and collaborates with top technologists and researchers to ensure the future of cryptocurrency. He initiated his journey in crypto by responsibly disclosing numerous critical vulnerabilities across various protocols and publishing technical documentation.
