Today, Cantor Equity Partners, Inc. disclosed<\/a> in a fresh submission to the SEC that Tether acquired 4,812.2 Bitcoin for a sum of $458.7 million on behalf of Jack Mallers\u2019 newly<\/a> established Bitcoin treasury firm, Twenty One Capital, which aims to eventually go public under the ticker $XXI.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIn accordance with the Business Combination Agreement, Tether consented that within ten (10) business days from then, it would procure a quantity of Bitcoin equal to a total purchase price of $458,700,000,\u201d Cantor noted in the submission. \u201cWith the Convertible Notes PIPE, signed on April 22, 2025 by Pubco and the Company with certain investors, minus a holdback amount of $52,000,000), and deposit such Bitcoin in a digital wallet maintained or managed by or on behalf of Tether.<\/p>\n

Tether is storing the Bitcoin in a digital wallet, which anyone can check the holdings online here<\/a>, displaying enhanced transparency into their assets akin to how some spot Bitcoin ETF issuers and other public firms, like Bitwise<\/a> and Metaplanet<\/a>, have managed their holdings.<\/p>\n
