In a discussion at the Token2049 event in Dubai, Aptos\u2019 ecosystem leader, Ash Pampati, informed Cointelegraph that Web2.5 platforms are generating \u201csignificant revenue\u201d within Aptos. He highlighted that consumer-oriented applications, in particular, are flourishing on the network.<\/p>\n

Web2.5 is a phrase used to characterize platforms or applications that combine centralized Web2 experiences with decentralized Web3 components.<\/p>\n

These applications refrain from complete decentralization, often facing criticism for not fully adopting<\/a> the Web3 vision.<\/p>\n

Consumer-oriented Web2.5 platforms yield revenue on Aptos<\/h2>\n

Pampati conveyed to Cointelegraph that one of the trends he observes within the Aptos ecosystem is that creators wish to establish \u201cexceptional consumer experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stated that the Aptos network was designed to accommodate projects with almost a Web2-like scale. Due to its Meta origins, Aptos provides a developer stack aimed at minimizing friction within Web3.<\/p>\n

Pampati characterized this as a Web2 user experience \u201cwithout compromising Web3 principles.\u201d He noted that platforms adhering to such models have experienced success within the ecosystem:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see a multitude of excellent consumer Web 2.5 platforms arising. Hence, those focused on distribution and fan loyalty are also accruing substantial revenue because they’ve developed remarkable products.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pampati mentioned that this trend is primarily driven by their developer stack and what the Aptos platform provides, which concentrates on widespread consumer applications.<\/p>\n

The obstacle of attracting the next million users<\/h2>\n

Although Web2.5 applications tackle some of the user experience challenges for crypto and Web3, Pampati indicated that one of the hurdles in the field persists in onboarding non-crypto natives into the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe the primary challenge is predicting the next trigger that brings in the next million, 10 million users into crypto. There\u2019s a significant tendency to revisit past conflicts,\u201d Pampati informed Cointelegraph, adding that creators often revert to concepts like memecoins and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, he asserted that discovering the next catalyst to encourage broader mainstream acceptance will necessitate innovating something new.<\/p>\n

Pampati emphasized that collaborating and inspiring creators to \u201clook beyond the corners and not merely attempt to recreate what already exists\u201d remains a pressing challenge. He urged that founders should be poised for the next catalyst.<\/p>\n
