“Building a Greener Future: Megawide Foundation Launches Two Innovative Community Projects”

“`html

In a further stride towards cultivating improved communities, Megawide Corporate Foundation, Inc. (“MCFI” or “the Foundation”)—the corporate social responsibility branch of Megawide Construction Corporation (“Megawide”)—has recently finalized two sustainability initiatives, encapsulating its objective to create sustainable, welcoming environments.

A revitalized sanctuary of hope and support for underprivileged children
On 16 October, the Foundation officially handed over the recently refurbished Milagrosa Dormitory to White Cross Children’s Home in San Juan City, offering a secure and nurturing refuge for kids under the organization’s supervision.

The enhanced facility encompasses a sleeping area, recreational space, and restrooms, all meticulously crafted to establish a zone of comfort and safety. The endeavor was executed through EConstruction, MCFI’s sustainability program that incorporates eco-conscious materials, repurposed resources, and effective design methodologies into community infrastructure.

“This joint undertaking is genuinely a work of love and illumination,” remarked MCFI Executive Director Atty. Mia Castro. “Love, as it embodies the kindness and teamwork among Megawide’s teams, partners, sponsors, and volunteers. And light, as it instills hope in the children of White Cross, illustrating that they are acknowledged, valued, and supported. This encapsulates how constructing a brighter future commences:
with compassion and collaborative effort.”

White Cross President Mary Concepcion Young conveyed that the dormitory symbolizes a new beginning and an enhanced sense of home for their children.

“We are extremely thankful to Megawide Foundation for their kindness. This dormitory provides our children a space constructed with kindness, care, and a commitment to their welfare,” stated Young.

Connecting urban living and nature through an eco-friendly establishment
On 10 October, MCFI also introduced another EConstruction achievement—the Bird Hide Project—at the Las Piñas–Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP). This structure was crafted as a sustainable observation deck that promotes birdwatching, biodiversity protection, and environmental consciousness. Constructed using recycled materials and effective design principles, the initiative symbolizes the balance between urban growth and environmental responsibility.

“The Bird Hide exemplifies that sustainability and social responsibility are intertwined,” stated MCFI President Tata Saavedra. “Our efforts extend beyond construction; we’re fostering trust, hope, and prospects for a First-World Philippines. These engagements demonstrate how intentional design can elevate lives while safeguarding our natural and social ecosystems.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park Protected Area Superintendent Christopher Villarin also praised the initiative for its significant contribution to environmental preservation.

“This indeed signifies a valuable addition to our efforts in conserving urban biodiversity. It offers a safe and educational environment for visitors to value nature while emphasizing the need to protect ecosystems. We are grateful to Megawide Foundation for supporting our mission to harmonize development with ecological conservation.”

Both initiatives were executed in collaboration with Megawide Construction, the Foundation’s primary building partner that shares the same aspiration of empowering communities and promoting a First-World Philippines. The White Cross Milagrosa Dormitory project was spearheaded by Group Operations Head Rey Rodrin, while the Bird Hide Project was directed by Group Operations Head Jules Ronquillo, illustrating the company’s united commitment to social responsibility and sustainable advancement. Megawide Foundation aims to persistently advocate for sustainable community development, illustrating how innovation in construction can usher in enduring positive change for individuals, communities, and the environment.
