SNAP Triumphs at NordCham Community Impact Awards for Transforming Host Communities

Provider of renewable energy solutions, SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) secured the Community Impact Award during the 2025 Nordic Chamber of Commerce (NordCham) Business Awards, which took place on Aug. 6 at the BDO Tower Valero in Makati.

This accolade is among the categories presented at the annual 2025 NordCham Awards. It acknowledges organizations that foster inclusive development via social impact, community involvement, social innovation, and incorporating sustainability into their fundamental operations. SNAP distinguished itself among this year’s contenders in this category through its commitment to volunteerism, sustainable progress, and the enhancement of its host communities.

SNAP is convinced that corporate success is closely linked with the well-being of the communities we support,” stated Joseph Yu, SNAP President and Chief Executive Officer. “Over our 18 years of operation, our emphasis on community advancement has shaped our business practices. The award we received tonight validates the impact of the time, efforts, and resources we have invested in creating value with our host communities. We sincerely appreciate everyone involved in this endeavor.”

For almost two decades, SNAP has served as a reliable partner to local government units, host communities, and Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples. Following principles of transparency, collaboration, and collective growth, the corporation has fostered robust relationships with stakeholders throughout its operational areas in the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya.

Through its business branches, SNAP-Benguet and SNAP-Magat, the organization has funded 1,196 community-led initiatives under the company’s Community Investment and Development Program (CIDP). By 2024, SNAP has voluntarily allocated over P590.4 million through CIDP, backing projects that promote community advancement in vital sectors such as health, education, livelihood, infrastructure, governance, environment, and support for Indigenous Peoples.

SNAP’s accolade this year not only highlights its influence but also strengthens its commitment to fostering a more sustainable future. The company has previously garnered recognition at the NordCham Awards, achieving runner-up status for both CSR Business Partner of the Year and Sustainability Business Partner of the Year in 2023, and was also a finalist for Sustainability Business Partner of the Year in 2022.

The NordCham Sustainability Awards form a segment of the annual Nordic Business Awards organized by the Nordic Chamber of Commerce, which celebrate companies in the Philippines and throughout Southeast Asia for excellence in sustainability, corporate responsibility, and ethical business practices.
