Kickstart Your Career: Introducing the Ethereum Internship Season

“`html

Each year, the Ethereum ecosystem embraces numerous creators via community gatherings, hackathons, educational courses, boot camps, and campus organizations. Nevertheless, numerous newcomers encounter difficulties in staying engaged, as they struggle to obtain structured early-career roles. The Ethereum Season of Internships effectively targets this retention issue by establishing a unified array of internship opportunities within the ecosystem.

What is the Ethereum Season of Internships?

The Ethereum Season of Internships presents a synchronized array of compensated, entirely remote summer internships throughout the Ethereum ecosystem. This initiative paves the way for the upcoming generation of contributors to engage with Ethereum projects and utilize their varied skills in development, research, design, marketing, finance, legal matters, and beyond.

Our long-term aspiration is to transform Ethereum into an increasingly inclusive environment for new talent, cultivating a sustainable pathway that converts newcomers into dedicated long-term contributors.

Internship Structure

  • Duration: 12 weeks (August – October 2025)
  • Eligibility: Open to everyone, particularly early-career individuals and learners
  • Host Organizations: Various teams across the Ethereum ecosystem
  • Compensation: Paid roles (amounts specified by hosts)
  • Flexibility: Both full-time and part-time roles offered

Interested in Hosting an Intern this Summer?

Hosting teams can not only connect with enthusiastic talents (i.e., prospective future hires!), but they can also explore more streamlined methods to incorporate new contributors into their projects. By collaborating, we can enhance the visibility of internship chances and attract even more participants.

To qualify as a hosting entity, your team must:

  • Be an active participant in the Ethereum ecosystem (L2s, infrastructure, research, tools, applications, etc.)
  • Show alignment with Ethereum’s fundamental principles: decentralization, resistance to censorship, open-source innovation, privacy, and security
  • Sustain open-source projects for interns to engage in
  • Provide clearly defined projects or tasks with specific learning goals
  • Have at least 5 full-time contributors available to guide and mentor interns
  • Not be a current participant in the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF)

As a host, your team will be accountable for:

  • Reviewing and selecting interns that align with your projects and mentorship capacity (selection deadline: mid-July)
  • Establishing formal agreements with chosen interns
  • Managing compensated internships during the 12-week timeframe (August – October 2025)
  • Offering consistent support and mentorship throughout the program
  • Documenting and sharing your experience to aid in enhancing future iterations

Ready to Host an Intern?

Applications to become a host organization close on May 28, 2025. Even if you cannot host this summer, you can still assist by identifying beginner-friendly issues in your repositories.
