Ethereum Network Faces Onslaught: DoS Attack Alert

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL MINERS: The network is experiencing an assault. This offensive is a computational DDoS, which means that miners and nodes must expend an excessive amount of time processing certain blocks. This is caused by the EXTCODESIZE opcode, which has a relatively low gas price but necessitates nodes to access state information from disk; the attack transactions are invoking this opcode approximately 50,000 times for each block. As a result, the network is significantly slowing down, but there is NO consensus failure or memory overload. We have presently pinpointed several pathways for a more viable medium-term solution and have developers engaged in the implementation.

It is highly advised to transition to Parity mining. Apply the following settings:

–cache-size-db 1024 –gas-floor-target 1000000 –gasprice 50000000000

If you decide to continue using geth, please use the settings below:

–cache 1024 –targetgaslimit 1000000 –gasprice 50000000000
