It is with regret that we inform you that Ming Chan, who has held the position of Executive Director at the Ethereum Foundation for nearly three years, is departing from the Foundation. Since her joining in 2015, she has been instrumental in the progress and achievements of the Foundation. We will miss the guidance, dedication, and integrity she contributed to the Foundation and wish to express our gratitude for her committed service and numerous significant achievements including:
- Multiple rounds of restructuring for the Foundation, along with substantially enhancing efficiency and minimizing costs
- Establishing partnerships with IC3 and other academic organizations
- Steering and aiding the Foundation through several challenging situations, including the DAO hack and the 2016 DoS attacks
- Supervising various major successful hard forks, such as Homestead and Metropolis
- Managing three successful Devcon events
To meet the current and future leadership demands of the Foundation, we have concluded our search for a deserving successor. Effective February 1, 2018, Aya Miyaguchi will take on the role of Executive Director at the Ethereum Foundation. Aya is an experienced professional in the blockchain sector and was most recently the Managing Director of Kraken Japan. She brings a wealth of organizational leadership experience and has a deep passion for non-profits and social ventures. We consider ourselves fortunate to have her join us and warmly welcome her to her new position.
“Having engaged in various facets of the blockchain ecosystem, I understand the enhancements required at the core of the Ethereum platform, and that these developments can only occur with the backing of a robust community. I am thrilled to take on this role and support the research and development initiatives, as well as the connections within the community,” Aya states.
We look forward to collaborating with Aya as the Foundation continues to develop and thrive in the upcoming years. There are many thrilling advancements for our ecosystem on the horizon, and we expect even more significant breakthroughs soon.
