Bridging Ethereum Across Cultures: A Global Translation Initiative

We are excited to announce the initiation of a comprehensive translation initiative for Ethereum.org, aimed at translating the website and additional resources into over 15 languages.

Ethereum is a worldwide endeavor, and it is essential that Ethereum.org represents our global community. Since the reintroduction of the website, our team has concentrated on establishing a translation program that ensures information about Ethereum is available to everyone, irrespective of their citizenship or language.

Today, we are eager to unveil our first complete translation: a Korean edition of the website, now accessible at ethereum.org/ko. In the following weeks, our program will grow, initially concentrating on finishing translations in Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Russian, German, and Italian. This initial language selection was based on search activity for Ethereum and relevant terms, in addition to traffic to Ethereum-related websites.

Although this initiative primarily targets translating Ethereum.org, it will gradually extend to encompass translations of significant community resources such as documentation, guides, blog entries, and more.

The translation initiative will consist of a blend of volunteer-driven translations, project supervision from the Ethereum Foundation team, and professional translation services as necessary to address gaps or provide evaluations.

Are you keen on contributing to the translation project for a particular language? We are on the lookout for volunteers from the global Ethereum community to be part of language-specific teams. We invite you to discover more and participate here.

Ethereum is vital infrastructure for all of humanity, and Ethereum.org should embrace the diversity we witness at regular hackathons and events worldwide. With today’s launch of ethereum.org/ko and the Ethereum.org translation initiative, we have taken another step towards representing the most significant aspect of our ecosystem — our community.

Special gratitude to Taeyeon Kim, who has spearheaded the translation initiative, along with the team of volunteers who translated ethereum.org/ko: Daniel Jee, Hyungsuk Kang, Jeongmoo Heo, Jumin Lee, Sangphil Kim, Suhun Kim, Wanseob Lim, and Yeong Hun Ryu.
