We are thrilled to commemorate a significant achievement today – Ethereum.org now offers 30 languages! 🎉🎉🎉
Since commencing the Website Translation Program seven months ago, we’ve observed how decentralized collaboration can lead to a notable influence on the ecosystem, benefitting numerous community members around the globe.
Currently, 467 volunteers from 52 language groups have contributed to making ethereum.org accessible to non-English speaking communities in their native languages.
Due to these volunteers, 16% of all visits to ethereum.org are now aimed at non-English versions of the site. Over time, this figure has notably increased.
Two months prior, the website team established a Q2 objective to incorporate six additional languages to the 24 that were available at that time. We’re proud to have achieved this goal by integrating the languages listed below:
- Norwegian v.1.1
- Chinese Traditional v.1.1
- Malayalam v.1.1
- Ukrainian v1.1
- Lithuanian v.1.0
- Portuguese v.1.0
- Italian v1.0 -> v.1.1 (updated)
Q3: Upgrading existing languages to site v1.1
For Q3, we have set a fresh objective to enhance all languages to the latest iteration of ethereum.org, v1.1, which aligns with the most current content on the site. Presently, there are 16 languages awaiting an upgrade to v.1.1, which expands on the previous material. Furthermore, additional content will be revised in Q3/Q4. The languages we’re currently emphasizing are listed below, along with a percentage indicating the progress of the translation:

Want to help with our translation initiative? We urge you to aim for the latest version (v 1.1). If you have already begun work on an earlier version, that’s perfectly acceptable! We will incorporate any completed version into the website.

Below are the latest updates we’ve implemented across the website translation program.
1. Acknowledgment page
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has assisted us in reaching this milestone, for which we are greatly thankful. We will soon dedicate a special recognition page that will feature a list of volunteer names (or nicknames for those valuing privacy). If you would like to modify your current name or prefer to remain anonymous, kindly adjust your Crowdin profile setting as per the instructions at the end of this section.
2. Top 10 contributor list
In the future, there will be a distinct table displaying the names along with a brief summary (e.g., language, number of words) to recognize the exceptional contributions of these remarkable individuals, while also motivating potential existing and new volunteers to join our team.
3. Fill up your Github and Twitter handles
Alongside the Acknowledgment page, we will consistently express thanks to contributors on Twitter. With every new language update, we acknowledge contributors by mentioning their nickname (or real name) in the Twitter announcements.
Additionally, we aim to tag contributors’ Twitter handles and mention their GitHub profiles in the Twitter announcements. To standardize this procedure, contributors can fill in their Crowdin profiles with the information they wish for us to share. The instructions provided below can serve as a reminder and guide for entering the necessary information.

4. Content translation program
Finally, we are pleased to announce that we have successfully concluded the initial batch trial of the Content Translation Program. We also tested broadening our translation ventures to include content beyond Ethereum.org, with the three carefully selected articles outlined below:
- Ethereum 2.0 stages by EthHub: German, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Arabic, French, Indonesian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Spanish

We were thrilled to present this wonderful content in various languages. However, we are now preparing to direct our attention to a wealth of new material set to arrive at ethereum.org.
