President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., on Nov. 10, 2024, promised that the government would promptly rebuild residences affected by Typhoon Marce in Cagayan.
During his address at the financial aid distribution in Buguey, Cagayan, President Marcos stated that he coordinated with all pertinent government bodies to guarantee that assistance reaches those displaced by Marce.
“Hindi kaya ng isang department gawin lahat. Kaya ang tinatawag po namin, ginagawa po namin ay what we refer to as the whole-of-government strategy.
Kaya’t ‘yun ang tututukan natin,” he further stated.
The President assured that the government will not forsake the victims until they completely recover from the typhoon’s aftermath. He mentioned that the assistance offered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will persist.
President Marcos allocated P10 million each to the localities of Aparri, Buguey, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Teresita, Baggao, Gattaran, Gonzaga, and Santa Ana. The funds were received by the respective local leaders.
He also observed the provision of support from various government agencies — the DSWD, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), and the Department of Agriculture (DA). | PND
