On Friday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. enacted two laws aimed at strengthening the Philippines’ rights and duties within its maritime areas. He authorized the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act, which he described as “notable legislations that highlight the significance of our maritime and archipelagic heritage.”
